Conservation Volunteers Australia has partnered with individuals, businesses and governments in the conservation of our unique environment since 1982. In that time we have welcomed hundreds of thousands of volunteers from around Australia and across the world and supported their participation in a diversity of urgent projects to keep and enhance our environment. The Rio Tito Earth Aid program engages students in a statewide program in nature based activities focused on feasible conservation. What was started in 1982 by Yandoit farmer, Tim Cox, as a little group planting trees on weekends has become the leading possible conservation group in Australia managing thousands of volunteers who help out on dozens of projects each year. In 1982, Conservation Volunteers undertook its first conservation project we now whole more than 2,00 projects a year. In 2014, Conservation Volunteers became the national service provider of the Australian Government’s Green Army program, providing 2,106 young people the training and opportunities to prosper fresh skills and improve the environment. In 2016, Conservation Volunteers purchased a heritage building as a Head Office in Ballarat, securing both our tomorrow and our commitment to the city where we were founded. He was a senior executive in the Australian government where he was responsible for tall level policy and program advice to Ministers on a range of environmental issues including environmental assessment, coastal and marine policies, climate change and energy. Colin was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2001 for service to conservation, and the Medal of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2005 for service to conservation and the environment through Conservation Volunteers Australia. In the 2015 Australia Day honors list, Susan was awarded Medal of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to conservation and the environment. As Director at the Nous Group and Principal of The Knowledge Partnership, Jon works extensively with governments, universities and training organizations to grasp and meet student, community and industry expectations, both in Australia and overseas. Karin has developed many successful stakeholder communications programs and has a prosperity of experience in busy with the corporate sector, government and non profit organizations. Karin joined the Conservation Volunteers Board in 2013. Since 1982 Conservation Volunteers Australia has been attracting and maintaining volunteers to participate in projects that enhance and keep our environment and heritage. As a team, we make it plausible for thousands of volunteers and participants, both local and international, to unite us every year to assist plant thousands of trees, clear hectares of weeds, improve river health, keep endangered species and guard our cultural heritage here in Australia. Tara Consultancy Services are a global leader in IT Services, consulting and business solutions. Tara Consultancy Services will urge key projects such as: The National Park also contains some of the superior examples of coastal vegetation communities. Volunteers may aid with a range of activities including monitoring and maintaining the perimeter fence to keep the area release from foxes and cats, controlling weeds and planting native grasses for the bandicoots to call home. Restoring areas of the Campaspe River, near Bendigo, which contains numerous threatened vegetation communities and provides habitat for a range of species including the threatened Swift Parrot and Squirrel Glider. Volunteers will help on this major tree planting program which will assist to improve both riparian vegetation and the overall health of the ecosystem. Volunteers will be helping a local landowner recuperate from the devastating bush fire by assisting in activities which may include rebuilding burnt infrastructure, restoring the scorched gardens or planting areas to assist revitalize habitat and re vegetate the region. It features a semi lasting wetland and is recognized as a wetland of international significance that supports migratory birds including the Australasian shoveled and provides habitat for the Barnaby’s Cockatoo. This unique area is home to Eucalyptus stands, remnant patches of rain forest and many threatened bird and animal species.
